As part of the Erasmus+ KA220 project, GTI students, healthcare professionals, and childcare practitioners had the opportunity to step inside immersive, ethically grounded VR environments that transform how complex care situations are taught and understood.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For many participants, this was their\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">first-ever experience using VR<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2014and the impact was immediate. Learners described the moment they shifted from\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">watching<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fa scenario to\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">being inside it<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, navigating conversations, making decisions, and responding to\u00a0realtime\u00a0challenges in childcare and\u00a0elderlycare\u00a0settings.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">GTI\u2019s pilot included scenarios focused on communication, dignity, ethical\u00a0decisionmaking, and\u00a0personcentred\u00a0care, along with\u00a0wellbeingfocused\u00a0experiences such as reminiscence therapy and sensory engagement. These VR sessions offered something traditional classrooms cannot:\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201ca safe space to\u00a0practise, make mistakes, reflect, and try again\u2014without\u00a0realworld\u00a0consequences\u201d.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Learners consistently highlighted how this boosted their confidence before entering real care environments.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What makes the\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">VRCare<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fproject especially powerful is its collaborative design. GTI educators, students, and care practitioners contributed directly to shaping and refining the scenarios, ensuring they reflect authentic care settings and real ethical dilemmas. Feedback from participants across Europe\u2014including GTI\u2019s own pilot groups\u2014continues to guide the next phase of development, with even more interactive and dynamic scenarios planned for late 2026.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">GTI\u2019s involvement\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0how immersive technology can enrich learning, strengthen practical skills, and prepare future care professionals with confidence and compassion.
