The VRCARE project will bring meaningful innovation to the world of early childhood education. Recently, we piloted our childcare scenarios using VR sets at the Agia Varvara Public Kindergarten in Cyprus. This visit allowed us to test immersive training in a real-life environment.
Educators stepped into realistic childcare situations to see how technology will help them grow. For many teachers, this was their first time using VR as a learning tool. The virtual world created a safe & controlled space to:
- Practice Ethical Choices: Educators will explore how to make the best decisions for children in difficult moments.
- Handle Sensitive Interactions: The VR scenarios will help staff practice how to talk & react in delicate situations.
- Bridge Theory & Practice: Standing inside a situation will be much more powerful than just reading about it in a book.
The discussions after each scenario were honest & professionally rich. Participants examined their own instincts & thought about how their training plays out in real life. This feedback is incredibly valuable because true innovation in education will be tested, experienced, & refined in real settings.
The focus & professionalism of the Agia Varvara team underlined how relevant VR-based training will be for the future of vocational education & training (VET).
We want to say a big thank you to the amazing team at Agia Varvara Public Kindergarten for your openness. Your engagement will help ensure that VRCARE provides the best possible tools for educators.
The initiative was implemented as part of the dissemination strategy of the Erasmus+ KA220-VET project VRCARE: Modernizing Healthcare Pedagogy with Virtual Reality for Interaction, Ethics, Stimulation and Sensory (Project Code: 2024-1-FI01-KA220-VET-000249151), funded by the European Union. The project aims to modernise educational approaches in the Health sector.
