Exploring Virtual Reality in Vocational Education at the 2nd Evening Vocational High School of Ioannina

On 5 March 2026, an interactive VR evaluation activity took place at the 2nd Evening Vocational High School of Ioannina, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project VRCARE.

The activity was organised by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Aitoloakarnania as part of the project “VRCARE: Modernizing Healthcare Pedagogy with Virtual Reality for Interaction, Ethics, Stimulation and Sensory” (Project Code: 2024-1-FI01-KA220-VET-000249151), co-funded by the European Union.

Students and teachers from Nursing and Early Childhood Care specialties participated in the activity, exploring how Virtual Reality can support the learning process.

Using VR headsets, participants interacted with realistic scenarios based on professional situations. The experience encouraged active engagement and helped learners better understand real-life tasks.

Student feedback confirmed the value of the approach. They described the experience as immersive and engaging, while also suggesting improvements such as more scenarios, enhanced visual quality, and increased access to VR equipment.

The activity highlighted the strong potential of Virtual Reality to support vocational education through interactive and experience-based learning.

VRCARE project has received support from the Erasmus+ program.
